Graham County (Kansas) Drug Endangered Children Task Force
This drug endangered children response protocol includes an introduction to the problem of children exposed to methamphetamine use, manufacture, and distribution, as well as an overview of the mission, purpose, and goals of the DEC team. Describes the responsibilities of law enforcement personnel and emergency medical technicians upon discovery of a drug endangered child at a clandestine lab. Tasks for law enforcement include collecting evidence, notifying CPS, and conducting forensic interviews. EMTs will conduct a medical assessment and provide medical care and decontamination if necessary. Operational procedures also include drug testing of the child. Protocol also describes general guidelines for information sharing, report preparation, case assignment, and team debriefing.
