National drug control strategy 2013

The 2013 edition of the Obama administration’s drug control policy. Outlines key elements of the strategy in the following areas: strengthen drug, alcohol, and tobacco prevention efforts in the community, particularly among youth; seek early intervention opportunities in health care settings (including prenatal exposure); integrate substance abuse treatment into health care and expand support for recovery; break the cycle of drug use, crime, delinquency, and incarceration (including the use of drug courts); disrupt drug production and trafficking in the U.S.; strengthen international drug control partnerships; and improve information systems for analysis, assessment, and management. Includes special sections on the topics of reducing drugged driving and preventing prescription drug abuse (outlining key elements of education, monitoring, disposal, and enforcement).
