This article describes training for law enforcement and other first responders on the dangers associated with the one-step “shake and bake” method of methamphetamine manufacture. Notes that these so-called “soda bottle labs” are dangerous because the plastic containers used in the manufacturing process are not designed to hold combustible chemicals, and can easily explode and cause serious injury. Advises fire and medical first responders to call law enforcement when they come upon a suspected one-step meth lab.
