National Abandoned Infants Assistance Resource Center – 2011

A description of AIA projects designed to address the needs of mothers and young children affected by substance abuse and/or HIV. Provides a brief history of the AIA program, noting the need to address the well-being of all family members impacted by substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, and poverty. Services of AIA projects can include substance abuse and mental health treatment, parenting education, child assessment and intervention, legal advocacy, and housing and transportation assistance. Report contains detailed descriptions of several programs. Descriptions include information on program history, service delivery model, staffing, community collaboration, and evaluation/outcomes.
