National Abandoned Infants Assistance Resource Center – 2011
A description of AIA projects designed to address the needs of mothers and young children affected by substance abuse and/or HIV. Provides a brief history of the AIA program, noting the need to address the well-being of all family members impacted by substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, and poverty. Services of AIA projects can include substance abuse and mental health treatment, parenting education, child assessment and intervention, legal advocacy, and housing and transportation assistance.
